Useful Terms

A list of useful terms for your reference in this knowledge base:

Airline Code: The abbreviated code for the airline or a group the user belongs to

App Settings: The App content and version details

Attribute: An attribute is a field like i.e. Date, name, phone etc.

Attribute Type: An attribute can be of different types, like date, text, number etc.

Base: The working base (home base) of the member (user)

Board: Board of a union or a group

Committee: Committee, if any, belonging to the union or group

Committee (General): A committee representing all groups within the union, a cross-group committee

Committee (Special): A committee representing a single group within the union, specializing in matters only applicable to that group

Current Issue: A topic brought forward by the union admin to draw members attention to. It can be a report type, report group, or other content that can be found in the app.

Destination (module): Information on destinations operated by the member airline. It includes airport, transport, and hotel information.

Destination Group: The continents are the default groups a destination is assigned to but the administrator can add more groups.

Document (module): PDFs can be added to this section and user can make them available offline in the app.

Equipment: The type of aircraft the member operates with his airline

Event (module): A meeting, seminar or any other event scheduled by the union or group.

Journal (module): Content generated by the board or committees that are made available to members – this is also referred to as “Content Grouped”. This module can be labeled anything the client wants. So, a journal contains any content the client wants to make available to app users.

Journal Group: Journals (content) can be added to groups to better clarify the source of the content.

Labels: In the activity feed, each part bears a label that refers to what module the content originates from. In addition, labels are created for content in the “Content grouped” module (Newsletter module) to show different source.

Moderator: A user role that the backend system administrator can create and allow access to the backend system. The backend system administrator can assign different modules and Airline groups for the moderator to be responsible for.

Module: The system constitutes of different parts referred to as modules. For example, Reports, Surveys, Members and Destinations are all modules.

Newsletter (module): Content created by the client and added in this section – also referred to as “Content labeled”. For example, it can be Newsletter, News or any other content. The name of the section can be changed by the client. The only difference between this section and journals is that there are no groups in this section but it can be labeled.

Notification: Push notifications sent to users

Rank: A rank can be assigned to the user, for example a Captain, a first officer etc.

Report (module): User can submit a report to the union using different report types. The report type is created by the admin or moderators.

Report Group: Report types can be sorted in groups that hold report types of similar kind.

Report Type: A report form containing all applicable fields on a certain issue, ready for the user to fill out and submit

Settings: General settings for the app, set by the backend administrator or by moderators

Staff: Staff members of the union

Survey (module): Surveys or polls can be created by the admin or moderators and made available to users to participate in.

User: A member of the union with credentials to access the app.
